In My Room displays Karen's signature lyrical clarity, commanding guitar hooks and heart-tugging melodies, with all of the added wisdom she acquired from her years of helping others heal themselves. Co-produced by Atkins herself and multi-instrumentalist/producer Xeno, In My Room also features prominent studio musicians, including bassist Reggie Hamilton (Seal, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston) and drummer Curt Bisquera (Elton John, Mick Jagger, Bonnie Raitt, Johnny Cash), mixed and mastered by powerhouse engineers Robert L. Smith (David Bowie, U2, Aerosmith) and Vlado Meller (Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Red Hot Chili Peppers).

From the whimsical “Crooked Daylight,” the groovy “Can’t Get,” to the melodious “I’m Alright” and “Tell Daniel,” the vocal harmonies and intricate guitar and instrumental arrangements tie all of the songs together for a sonic journey through depth and personal transformation, inspiring people to pause and listen.

“Julian” and the bonus “Slip Slidin’ Away” Paul Simon cover are so catchy that it’ll get you humming the chorus on repeat.

Karen combined her diverse musical talent with therapeutic elements unique to pop music by using a special tuning in A = 432 Hz that is said to have a more harmonious sound.
